Week 17 NFL Football Picks & Predictions
(SportsRumble) Johnny Boy's Weekly NFL Forecast

Week 17 of the NFL Season is just around the corner, which means a lot of excitement. We’re about to find out who makes the playoffs. Let’s take a look at the matchups and most likely outcomes for Week 17.

Sunday, January 1, 2012

Jets @ Dolphins
Rex Ryan is finally eating his words. His boisterous attitude and overconfidence is wearing on his players and fans. The Jets are now on the outside looking in unless they win and get a lot of help from around the league. The Dolphins will be extremely motivated for this game and are likely to win with ease. NY Jets are 2-4 ATS in their last 6 games against Miami.

Miami Dolphins -3

Panthers @ Saints
This might be the highest scoring game of the year. Both teams can score at will and both defenses are suspect. Since the Saints don’t have much to play for, expect the Panthers to make it close, but the Saints will still pull it out in the end.

New Orleans Saints -8

Lions @ Packers
Both teams are in the playoffs and since they might play each other in a couple of weeks, neither team will want to show their hand. This will lead to a lower scoring game than expected in which the Packers will win by a hair. Green Bay has won 11 of their last 12 meetings and its last 5 at home against Detroit.

Green Bay Packers +3

Titans @ Texans
The Texans have nothing to play for while the Titans still have a shot at the playoffs with a win. That’s all the information required to make an accurate prediction. Houston is 2-4 both straight-up and against the spread in its last 6 at home against Tennessee.

Tennessee Titans -3

Bears @ Vikings
Both teams are disappointed with their seasons. Christian Ponder should start since he’s recovering well from a concussion. This is good news for the Vikings and bad news for the Bears. The Bears don’t match-up here well at all. Chicago is 2-4 ATS in its last 6 meetings in Minnesota.

Minnesota Vikings -1

Redskins @ Eagles
These are two inconsistent teams. However, it’s interesting that the Eagles are favored by 8.5 in a division rivalry game. Vegas has tipped their hand. The Eagles will win. Washington has lost 9 of their last 11 games, 3-7-1 ATS.

Philadelphia Eagles -8

49’ers @ Rams
The 49’ers need a win to clinch a 1st Round bye. This is bad news for the Rams. St. Louis is 4-10 ATS in its last 14 games versus San Francisco.

San Francisco 49ers -10½

Bills @ Patriots
The Patriots clinch the #1 seed and home-field advantage with a win. The Bills will fight, but it won’t be enough. Buffalo has dropped 15 of their last 16 games against New England.

New England Patriots -10½

Colts @ Jaguars
The Colts keep getting better and the Jaguars keep getting worse. Jacksonville has lost 5 of its last 7 games at home against Indianapolis.

Indianapolis Colts +3½

Chargers @ Raiders
The Raiders need a win and some help to get in. However, the Chargers will destroy their hopes and dreams. There is no way the Chargers will allow their hated division rivals to make the playoffs. Oakland is 2-7 ATS in its last 9 games at home against San Diego.

San Diego Chargers +3

Chiefs @ Broncos
If the Broncos win, they’re in. Kyle Orton will attempt to keep that from happening, but Tebow magic will be alive and well this week. His will to win is too strong to lose this game. Denver is
9-1 in its last 10 games at home against Kansas City.

Denver Broncos -3

Buccaneers @ Falcons
The Buccaneers are futile. At the same time, the Falcons have nothing to play for. Look for an upset. Take the points! Atlanta is 2-7 ATS in its last 9 games versus Tampa Bay.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers +11½

Ravens @ Bengals
The Ravens earn a 1st Round bye with a win. The Bengals make the playoffs with a win. This will be one of the best games of the day. Notice how the Ravens lose steam toward the end of every season. Most of their players are in their 30s and can’t handle the wear and tear as well as other teams. The Bengals home crowd will be roaring this week. Expect an upset. Cincinnati is 4-0-1 ATS in its last 5 games versus Baltimore.

Cincinnati Bengals +2

Seahawks @ Cardinals
The Cardinals love to play from behind, but that won’t work against a stingy Seahawks defense. Seattle is 1-4 ATS in its last 5 meetings in Arizona, but is 4-0-1 ATS in its last 5 games on the road.

Seattle Seahawks +3

Steelers @ Browns
The Steelers are in the playoffs and won’t risk injury to any important players regardless of seed changings based on a win. The Browns might salvage their season with an “impressive” win. Pittsburgh is 2-6 ATS in its last 8 games on the road

Cleveland Browns +6½

Cowboys @ Giants
This is the ultimate regular season showdown. The winner gets in and the loser is out. The Giants own the Cowboys and they’re at home. New York has won four of the last five meetings and is 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games against the Mavericks at home

New York Giants -3
