Point
spread
Point
spread is what the team that is favored must win
by.
Team
with the negative number (DASH) is favored. In
football a point spread is used. For example, if
the line was -6 1/2 for Dallas, Dallas would have
to win by 7 or more points to cover the spread. If
Dallas won by less then 7 points (Lost), then the
underdog would have covered the spread.
Football almost always uses a dime line, which
means that whichever team you place a bet on, your
cost would be $110 to win $100 (-110).
Total
Bets, Over/Under lines
Total
Bets; over/under is a bet on what the total of
both team's scores will be. In order to win on an
over/under, the over or under must be selected.
Then the total must either exceed the total line
if the "over" was chosen or fall below
the total, if the "under" was chosen.
Example: Dallas O/U - 15
16 or more Over win
14 or less Under win
15 would be a push ( Unless otherwise stated in
rules) |
